New York State of Mind

I am leaving for New York early Friday morning. I have been packing and repacking. The weather has been changing on me, but forecast is looking better everyday. It looks like rain is not going to happen on race day, therefore, I don't have to worry about rain gear for that day. It will still be cold but not wet!

I am very excited - I am mentally ready and hopefully will be able to manage pain better. I am going to sign up to join a pace group, that will help me a lot maintain my pace and feel part of a group. It's always more fun to be running with a group.

I will try to post about the race which I hope will help me with my next event!

what a day

Work was quite busy today so when I got home I decided to turn on the television - and what was on - all about LeBron James!  What the heck???  So I decided to work on my computer instead of training/working out.  Computers takes so long to update and/or fix.  At times I don't think it worth spending hours on it - but where would we be without computers - no twitter, facebook, blogs - then what is there to do?  I guess, I could run or go to the gym! What a concept!

Tomorrow, I will run before work and I know I feel great! Day will go fast adn the weekend will be here sooner than expected! If only that was true.

So off to bed I go - good night!

New York, etc.

I received my training schedule from my personal training coach, Emily C, and I am very excited to begin training for the New York City Marathon.  Not that I have not been running, the training I did for my last marathon was not too good - did it without much focus which resulted to a not-so-good finish.  I have decided to train properly this time and any upcoming events I sign up for - this way I will at least have respectable finishes and I can honestly tell myself that I gave it my all.  I want to be strong and fast!  Having a personal coach will make me accountable to someone and will indeed be a great motivation.

I have signed up again to be a mentor with Team in Training for the Winter 2011 Season.  Its been a year since I began my journey with Team in Training and I must say - so far, its been an incredible ride.  I have met a lot people, some have become my friends.  There's been a lot of awe-inspiring stories - it is so amazing what the human spirit can achieve!  I am glad to be part of this great group of people that continues to help with a great cause.  I can only hope that whatever little contribution I make would have an impact even to just one person.  The Team has changed my life.  I have changed a negative event into a positive, and have become a stronger person, emotionally.  Physically, I'll get there soon enough!

Soon I will be a grandma again and I can only hope for the best this time around.

Motivation???

I have not been very good at updating my blog - and now I have no motivation at all to do anything! I have to do some analysis on why that is . . . .
